The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) ARD UBTH comprises Resident doctors, Medical officers and House officers working in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. It has been in existence since 4th of August, 1978. The cardinal objectives of ARD UBTH as spelt out in the constitution are:

1. To protect the interest of Resident Doctors.
2. To promote the efficiency of the Resident Doctor in the discharge of his medical responsibilities.
3. To consider and express her views on the proposed policies and legislation affecting Resident Doctors in Nigeria.
4. To promote the standard of health care delivery.
5. To co-operate with other bodies within and outside Nigeria with similar aims and objectives.

The ARD UBTH seeks to enhance the welfare, training and service environment of the committed, resourceful and productive resident doctors in UBTH.
